Management and Administration (Business Support) T Level

The T Level in Management and Administration enables you to develop the knowledge, skills and experience needed to thrive in a career in Business.

Course Content

Designed by industry leaders, the T Level combines hands-on learning, academic study and a 45-day work experience placement with a local employer.

In Year One you will study core units covering a range of topics such as:

  • Different types of business organisations
  • The people function (human resources)
  • The finance function
  • Project and change management
  • Core business behaviours such as communications, integrity, self-management and self-awareness.

In Year Two, you will study an occupational specialism: Business Support, covering:

  • The running of an organisation
  • Organising and prioritising workloads and processes
  • Recommending and delivering improvements to business practices 
  • Maintaining positive internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Managing the flow of information in a business.

 During this year, you will further develop your knowledge whilst developing the skills needed complete your specialist project.


All content is externally assessed. In Year 1, the core knowledge and understanding is assessed through an examination and core skills through a practical employer set project. In Year 2, the business support occupational specialism will be assessed through a final examination.

Your Future

Once you have successfully completed your T Level, there will be a range of progression opportunities available to you. These include, entering skilled employment, starting a higher-level apprenticeship, and going to university.

After studying this T Level, you could progress into a career in:

  • Business Administrator
  • Event Planner
  • Project Assistant
  • Human Resource Assistant
  • Marketing Assistant.

Entry Requirements

To study this T Level, you will need at least five GCSEs at Grade 5 or above (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.

The ability to demonstrate good communication and job-ready skills, which you may have already developed in a part-time job, will support your application.
