This course is designed to improve the practical performance of people who have, or are about to be given, specialist personnel responsibilities within their own organisation. This Level 3 qualification is perfect if you want to acquire a wide range of relevant practical skills in HR and development.
The Certificate in Human Resource Practice introduces students to areas within the role of HR managers in the organisation, recruitment and selection processes; employment law; HR introduction systems; performance management; and employee relations.
The Certificate in Human Resource Practice (QCF) is awarded by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the leading human resources professional body.
Each of the six modules is separately assessed, either via written reports looking at how the student's own organisation operates or through a practical-skills-based assignment, e.g. recruitment interviewing.
The CHRP meets the knowledge requirements for associate membership of the CIPD. Upon starting your qualification, you will join the CIPD as a student member. When you have successfully completed your qualification you'll have an opportunity to upgrade to associate membership. You may progress on to the Level 5 or the Level 7 CIPD qualifications.
Suitable for students aged over 20 who have 5 GCSEs at C including English and Maths. Mature students in a personnel management or supervisory function but without the qualifications are welcome to apply.
Ideally, students should be working in HR or be able to access an HR department for material for assessments.
