What will I learn?

If you wish to start a new career in construction and have little or no experience, the Level 2 Bricklaying qualification has been developed for delivery in a training environment; this means that you do not need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding so you can work as a bricklayer in the construction industry or progress to further training.

This qualification comprises the following 5 mandatory units;

  • Health and safety in construction trades
  • Working and communicating effectively in construction trades
  • Build a block wall
  • Build a brick wall
  • Build a cavity wall

How will I be assessed?

Students will be assessed by practical and written assessment.

What may it lead to?

This can lead to progression on to the Level 3 Bricklaying course, an apprenticeship or employment.

What qualifications do I need?

Although experience would be desirable, learners do not need any prior qualifications or experience for this course, and all applicants will be interviewed and assessed on an individual basis.

Part-time courses are only for students that are 19 years of age and over at the start of their study programme.
