Threading

Threading can give you a simple and effective method of hair removal for the eyebrows and small areas of facial hair. This is a very popular treatment for hair removal as it doesn’t require the application of products to the skin, making it a great choice for all clients.

What will I learn?

The Threading course covers how to give a full threading treatment alongside the history, technique and aftercare of the treatment. During a threading treatment, individual hairs are removed completely from the hair follicle. A twisted thread catches hairs as it is rolled across the skin and removes them. This is suitable for eyebrows and small areas of hair on the face. Threading hair is an ancient method commonly practised in Egypt and India, and is becoming very popular here in the UK. The course is beautifully written and accompanied by images and video clips to give you the best possible learning experience.

Hygiene, health & safety- Learn how to ensure the top standards of health and hygiene are practiced for your clients, self and surroundings.

Products and equipment required – Find out what to use and the necessary products to buy for yourself or your salon in order to perform this treatment.

Consultation procedures – Ensure that you gain the correct information from your clients before you commence with the treatment.

Contra indications to treatment – What to look out for and how to recognise contra indications.

Threading Treatment – Learn the correct techniques for carrying out a threading treatment.

Aftercare - Advice and maintenance for your clients following this treatment.

Additional information & costs

Whether you want to start work in the professional beauty sector or you wish to add new treatments to the services you already offer, our GTi-accredited short courses offer the quickest and most convenient route to getting qualified.

The course is fully accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists, the UK’s leading professional beauty trade body, for membership and insurance purposes.

On top of your course fee, you will need to become a Guild Member (student), at the cost of £25. This is paid to the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists and includes:

  • three months' membership with the Guild
  • the latest edition of the Guild Gazette

If you are already a full-paying member of the Guild, you do not need to pay this extra £25.

Once you have booked your training course and paid the enrolment you will be sent a link to access and pay the theory fee of £25 directly through The Guild.

You will be able to complete the theory modules for the course right away. You will also learn how to adapt your treatment to suit varying clients’ needs. Resources with clear diagrams and images are included to give you the best possible learning experience.

This course includes online theory units as well as a practical training session at Canterbury College, designed to give you the confidence and ability to offer a full threading treatment. You must have completed all theory modules prior to the practical session at Canterbury College.

When you have successfully completed your practical training, your tutor will pass you and a GTi Certificate will be available for you to download or purchase on your portal.
