This is a one-year top-up degree taught at Canterbury College and awarded by the University of Kent. It is designed to be a progression route for students who have successfully completed the HND in Applied Animal Science or equivalent award.

There will also be an independent research project, which will be undertaken alongside the taught modules.
Assessment is by examinations and coursework including projects, essays and presentations.
Employment in the animal science sector. Students may also wish to progress to postgraduate study.
To be considered for entry to this honours degree top-up award, applicants must have 240 credits in a related discipline. This usually means a pass grade or above at HND or a pass grade or above at FdA (foundation degree).
Students will have access to well-equipped laboratories and an animal centre. You will have as much practical involvement with animals as possible, and a number of trips and activities are organised each year. There will be an additional cost for all trips.
