This course will provide you with the basic knowledge and understanding of plants, animals, science and the environment.
Our Level 1 Diploma in Animal Care & Land-Based Studies provides you with the knowledge to progress to our Level 2 curriculum within the Animal and Land-Based Department.
The course is streamed to meet the needs of the learners with different units depending on your career aspiration. Course pathways available:
Animal Care & Land-Based Studies Diploma Level 1 (Animal Care)
Animal Care & Land-Based Studies Diploma Level 1 (Countryside and Wildlife Conservation)
Animal Care & Land-Based Studies Diploma Level 1 (Landscape Gardening and Horticulture)
If you have not achieved a grade 4 or C in English and Maths, you will also be required to undertake Math’s and English at an appropriate level.
Our Level 1 provision is a combination of practical and academic assessments.
Throughout the duration of the course, you will develop your ability to complete assessments that will enable you to progress to our Level 2 curriculum.
Students will be able to progress to one of our Level 2 curriculum offers depending on their interest (Animal Care, Countryside and Wildlife Conservation, Landscaping and Horticulture).
Students will need outdoor PPE – these items will be confirmed with you at enrolment.
