This course is designed to give you a comprehensive range of knowledge and the practical skills used as a payroll processor.
You will learn how to record financial payroll transactions in a manual and computerised environment and in line with real-time information requirements. You will calculate pay data and process that data including contributions to work-based pension schemes, using day-to-day basic payroll processing skills. You will understand the importance of maintaining accuracy, security and confidentiality when performing any payroll tasks.
You will be assessed with 3 pilot and 3 final assessments: two on your knowledge of the principles of payroll preparation, two on the fundamentals of payroll processing and two on computerised payroll processing.
You could progress on to a higher level qualification such as AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or you could complete the Level 1 in Computerised Bookkeeping.
There are no formal entry requirements; however, you should have a good level of literacy and numeracy. Some basic computer skills would also be useful.
This course will run for a morning a week for 12 weeks.
Students will need to pay for books required for the course.
