AAT Accounting Advanced Diploma Level 3

What will I learn?

The AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting covers a range of complex accounting tasks, including maintaining cost accounting records and the preparation of reports and returns. It comprises six mandatory units: Advanced Bookkeeping, Final Accounts Preparation, Management Accounting, Costing, Indirect Tax Ethics for Accountants and Spreadsheets for Accounting.

How will I be assessed?

All assessments are set and marked by AAT. Four units are assessed individually in end-of-unit assessments (exams) and one synoptic assessment sat at the end of the course which draws on and examines knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.

What may it lead to?

The accountancy skills developed by studying this qualification will enable students to seek employment with confidence and/or to progress to the next level of learning when employed in an apprenticeship.

Work experience

It is good practice for students to work with employers while studying. This is a mandatory requirement for 16–19 year old students on Study Programmes. This may include work placements, working on projects or exercises set or supervised by those working in the industry, or by attending master classes or guest lectures by people working in accounting.
