The Salon Academy

You will train in our industry-standard salon, where you can work with professional equipment on real-life clients.

These will give you the experiences you need to make it in the industry, and put you above the competition.

Our Salon Academy is open for appointments throughout the academic year.

Adult Learning

We offer a variety of part-time and short courses, specifically designed for adult learners. Whether you’re looking to begin a new career, upskill and add services to your offer or simply learn more about a hobby, we’ve got a course for you.

We accommodate for daytime and evening learning, providing courses that are tailored around working adults, and common childcare struggles.

Practical Experiences

As well as working in our on-site salon, our students also get lots of practical experiences outside the course, such as through work experience placements in local businesses and The Yarrow our onsite, four star hotel.

By working with real clients in professional settings, students naturally learn workplace conduct and the professional expectations of the industry.

Skills Competitions

Throughout their course, all our Hair and Beauty students get the chance to take part in competitions, such as the KFE4Skills Awards.

These give them the chance to show off their talents and expertise in front of industry professionals, judges and fellow students.

“I like that college is more career focused than school. At college I’m able to study just one topic that I’m passionate about and really expand my skills. We have the opportunity to take part in masterclasses, meet professionals from the industry and complete work experience within the community. ”
