Aimed at parents of children starting school in September who would like a head start into the world of phonics and early reading.
Phonics is a method of teaching children to read by linking sounds and the symbols or letters that represent them, by breaking down what sound a word starts with, saying the sound out loud and then recognising how that sound is represented by a letter.
Our one-day course will help you understand how phonics is taught at primary school age and give you a range of fun, practical activites to work on with your child.
This course is ideal for anyone who has a child starting school in September, or those working with pre-school children who want to develop their skills in this area.
Teaching hours: 9.30am–1.30pm.
