Our qualifications let you choose between Teaching Assistant or Early Years, which means you can focus on the areas of childcare and education that you want a career in.
The college has an on-site nursery and close links with local childcare and education providers, meaning you will have regular work experience opportunities to help you put your skills into practice.

Our Early Years students learn a lot about child development and how to make learning fun. This year one of the student tasks was to find ways to talk about diversity with young people by using self portraits.
Early Years students helped Kent County Council, Kent Policeand the Thanet Community Alcohol Partnership tackle the litter issue around Broadstairs beach and Piermont Park as part of the Big British Spring Clean.
Students studying on our Supported Teaching and Learning courses were invited in to Garlinge Primary School for a Question Time event with the head teacher and other staff to find out more about developments in primary education.

The workforce is projected to expand by 12% over the period to 2024, adding 24,432 jobs. In the same period, 34% of the workforce is projected to retire, creating 69,386 job openings.
Nursery nurses and assistants care for children from birth up to seven years of age in day or residential nurseries, children’s homes, maternity units and similar establishments.
