Why Choose Ashford College? - ESOL

ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) is available here for 16 -19 and adult learners. We are focused on you and will help you achieve your full potential. Here are some benefits of studying ESOL at Ashford College.

Get involved in College life

ESOL students get the chance through the year to work with other departments on projects and take part in activities in the college. A recent example was during our social action week (helping to make a difference) when they teamed up with Catering to make a recipe book of food from their home countries. All the money raised went to Kent Refugee Action Network.

Lots of trips in the year

Trips and activities are organised in order to give you a better understanding of the local community. Some of our ESOL students went to Charing Railway Station in May to improve the station’s appearance for all it’s passengers and staff. Read more here.

Take part in our community weeks

Our community weeks allow you to have an impact on the local area and the people in it. Ways in which ESOL have got involved before include making Christmas cards for local residents and helping to organise parts of our Celebration of Culture earlier in the year.

Learn lots of skills

Our ESOL staff aim to enhance your listening, speaking, reading, writing and understanding of the English language and are experienced in what they do. This means they can develop your skills in the best way possible for you.

Study in a great location

Ashford College is located in the middle of Kent, allowing you easy access to any of our neighbouring towns including Canterbury and Folkestone. It also only takes 40 minutes to get to London by train, meaning that exploring the county and the capital is really easy from Ashford.
