Advice for: Students, Parents and Carers | College Applicants | Apprentices
On Wednesday 16th March, students from every class came out throughout the day to explore the 24 stands, made up of employers, universities and more.
There was something for everyone and as well as talking to representatives and taking information away, some students applied for jobs during the fair.
One student was offered a job during the Careers Fair.
Grant Braddick (18) studies Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, and after speaking with a representative was asked if he would like to have a quick interview then and there for a job role with them. After, he was offered the role.
When asked about the unexpected interview, Grant said:
"I was quite surprised that employers would be looking to hire people on the day of the careers fair. But, I am so happy I got the job, I didn't know all my hard work would lead to this. I am very thankful to Ashford College for helping to put me on the path to where I want to be."
In the future, Grant would like to go to university to study Adult Nursing, and this role will provide him with great experience to reach his career goals.
Thomas White, Careers and Employer Engagement Officer, organised the event and is always there to provide career support and advice to students, and ultimately help them reach their potential.
This event had a great impact on all of the students, and has given them a broad view of the opportunities available to them after they finish college.
We would like to thank all of the external representatives for coming:
