The Bus Fare £2 scheme can be used on most bus services across the country including Stagecoach, which means that for any single bus journey, you won't pay more than £2! This is especially useful if you get the bus to and from college. Why not take advantage of this scheme however before it ends at the end of June? Below are some places in Ashford that you can go and explore just by hopping on a bus!
Sure, the Designer Outlet is only a 15-20 minute walk from college, but why not save time by jumping on the bus? Whether you're looking for the latest fashion trends, something to eat, or just a place to hang out, the Outlet is a great local option. With over 100 designer brands in one place, there will be something for you to discover.
Located by Junction 9 of the M20, the Eureka Entertainment Park is full of things for you to do outside of college hours. Whether you want to catch the latest blockbusters at Cineworld, grab fast food at McDonalds, Burger King, KFC or Subway, go the gym or have a sit down meal at Nandos or Frankie and Bennys - the choice is all yours! Buses direct for the cinema often stop outside Ashford International Station, just across from the college!
The Ashford district is surrounded by many villages, each with their own local history and attractions to see and explore. One such example is Wye which also runs along the River Stour, Why not hop to Wye on the bus and explore the Wye Downs to get some exercise in this new year plus a trip to remember?
Why is town on this list you may ask? It's a 5 minute walk from college? Well yes, but on your weekends and half term - accessing the town and it's great facilities is just as easy as it is during the college day! Whether you choose to relax in the park, go shopping, or explore Ashford's local history, it is now easier than ever, even when you're not in college. Check out Revelation, one of the town's art venues located inside St Mary's Church. Our Music students get involved with events that take place here for work experience!
Go and support your local team by travelling to Ashford United FC's Homelands stadium, just south of Ashford. Our college team often play there during Enrichment against other teams from across Kent, so this will be a familiar sight to them!
