Gain the skills you need to start your career as a qualified teaching and learning assistant.

Studying this course can enable you to progress straight into the world of work as a teaching assistant, at a variety of age groups. 

A successful learner in a course like this would be an enthusiastic, dedicated learner who wants to work in an educational setting and help the next generation develop. 

What does this course involve?

This course will cover a variety of aspects of caring for children and supporting their needs, such as child development, safeguarding and wellbeing, and creating activity plans.

You can look forward to the opportunity to put your skills into use with practical experience in early years settings alongside your course.

This course would be ideal for adults returning to learning and who want a flexible course.

Assessment

You will learn through practical and theoretical lessons, complete observations in the workplace and build a portfolio of work.

Progression

You can progress straight into employment as a level 2 Practitioner, or onto the level 3 Programme. Ask for more information.

Please be advised that this course is for learners aged 19+ only, and will take place one evening a week at 4.30-7.30pm.

*This course may be free to those who are 19+ and are unemployed or on a low income.

19 - 23: You are eligible if you are unemployed, receiving benefits or on a low wage. This course can also be fully funded if you already have a full Level 2. 

24+: You are eligible if you are unemployed, receiving benefits, or on a low wage.
