Develop a general understanding of medication, its uses, and procedures in this 6 month course. Gain the skills you need to join or expand your knowledge in the Health and Social Care sector with a variety of units.
Studying this course will allow you to gain an understanding of issues such as responsibility and accountability in the sector.
A successful learner in a course like this would be an enthusiastic, dedicated learner who wants to work in a Health and Social Care setting and wants to boost their future.
This course will cover a variety of aspects of medication usage and procedure in the Health and Social Care sector, such as requirements, administration and processes relating to this area.
Units covered will be as follows:
Unit 1 - Understand medication and prescriptions
Unit 2 - Supply, storage and disposal of medication
Unit 3 - Understand the requirements for the safe administration of medication
Unit 4 - Record-keeping and audit processes for medication administration and storage.
You will be assessed throughout the course, and will be required to complete all the mandatory units to achieve your qualification.
You can progress into potential employment with your Level 2 certificate, as well as go on for promotion in your area with your new skills. You can even go on to a Level 3 course in a relevant area if interested in areas such as End of Life Care.
Please be advised that this course is for learners aged 19+ only, and will take place one evening a week.
*This course may be free to those who are 19+ and are unemployed or on a low income.
19 - 23: You are eligible if you are unemployed, receiving benefits or on a low wage. This course can also be fully funded if you already have a full Level 2.
24+: You are eligible if you are unemployed, receiving benefits, or on a low wage.
