Assessing Vocational Achievement (Hair and Beauty) Certificate Level 3

This qualification is intended for those who want to assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment).

What will I learn?

This course is made up of 3 main units. These are:

Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment
Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding

These units will teach you how to plan, prepare, conduct and gather evidence for assessment using a range of assessment methods. It also teaches you to assess learners based on various evidence materials, such as portfolios, direct observation, witness testimony and more. Those who take the course will be required to assess the occupational competence of two learners.

Progression routes / leaving destinations

Go on to further study, or lead with a new career is assessment relating to the Hair and Beauty sectors.

Fees and costs

*This course may be free to those who are 19+ and are unemployed or on a low income, through the Advanced Learner Loan scheme.

19 - 23: You are eligible if you are unemployed, receiving benefits or on a low wage. This course can also be fully funded if you already have a full Level 2.

24+: You are eligible if you are unemployed, receiving benefits, or on a low wage.
