Barbering Certificate Level 2 (19+)

Train for a career as a barber or owner of a barber’s salon. For learners aged 19+. If you are under 19, apply for our full time Barbering course.

Learn how to advise and consult clients and promote services and products, as well as how to:

Client consultation
Shampoo and condition hair and scalp
Cut men's hair
Style men's hair
Cut facial hair
Promote products and services
Health and Safety

You will be assessed by practical and written assessments, course work and oral questions.

You will need to buy specialist equipment and clothing.

Progression routes / leaving destinations

Hairdressing work or the Hairdressing Level 3.

Interview requirements

Your enrolment is subject to a successful interview and references.

Fees and costs

*This course may be free to those who are 19+ and are unemployed or on a low income.

19 - 23: You are eligible if you are unemployed, receiving benefits or on a low wage. This course can also be fully funded if you already have a full Level 2.

24+: You are eligible if you are unemployed, receiving benefits, or on a low wage.
