AAT Bookkeeping Certificate Level 3

This Level 3 Certificate qualification covers a range of essential and higher-level accounting techniques and disciplines. Students will learn and develop skills needed for a range of financial processes, including maintaining cost accounting records, advanced bookkeeping and the preparation of financial reports and returns.

What will I learn?

The AAT Diploma in Bookkeeping offers students at Level 3 the opportunity to develop and focus on key skills needed in the industry today. Units include Business Awareness, Preparing Financial Statements, Management Accounting Techniques and Tax Processes for Businesses.

These units will teach you how to understand business types, structure and governance and the legal framework in which they operate as well as give you double-entry bookkeeping skills and the skills required to produce statements of profit or loss. You will also understand the role of management accounting in an organisation, and legislation relating to VAT, amongst a whole range of relevant skills and processes.

What may it lead to?

This qualification can offer a route into employment, support students in their existing work or help students to pursue further study with AAT if they wish. You can even apply for AAT Bookkeeping Membership (AATQB) upon successfully completing this qualification.

How will I be assessed?

Students must pass four unit assessments to achieve the qualification. This is an externally assessed qualification.
