This Level 2 Certificate qualification allows you to gain the skills and essential knowledge needed for completing manual bookkeeping activities that underpin all accountancy and finance roles. You will develop practical accountancy skills in the double-entry bookkeeping system and in using associated documents and processes. This course will also cover transactions for accuracy, making entries in appropriate books and ledgers and calculating sales invoices and credit notes.
The AAT Certificate in Bookkeeping offers students at Level 2 the opportunity to develop skills relating to bookkeeping and bookkeeping controls.
A student completing this qualification will develop an understanding of how to set up bookkeeping systems, processing transactions for customers, suppliers as well as receipts and payments, and how to process transactions into ledger accounts. Students will also build on knowledge and develop the ability to prepare VAT control accounts and use the journal to record transactions and follow bookkeeping controls.
This qualification can offer a route into employment, support students in their existing work or help students to pursue further study with AAT (such as the AAT Bookkeeping Diploma Level 3).
Students must pass two unit assessments to achieve the qualification. This is an externally assessed qualification.
For the best chance of success, we recommend that students begin their AAT studies with a good standard of English and maths.
The course fee is £724*, which includes AAT membership and the assessment fees. You must be 19+ to do this course with us as this is a part-time course.
