Peter Corr is the Centre Manager of McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Ashford.
Peter is a strategic retail leader with a proven track record of delivering increased asset equity, sales and profit for the McArthurGlen group since joining in 2010.
Shortly after graduating from his MBA at Glasgow Caledonian University, he joined Swindon Designer Outlet as Retail Manager, working closely with the team to support and deliver the redevelopment of the centre’s additional space of 70,000sqft, 25 retail and 5 Food & Beverage units. In this role, he worked alongside facilities, leasing, marketing, external contractors and local council bodies to ensure the successful delivery of each phase.
Following his four years in Swindon, Peter transferred to East Midlands Designer Outlet where he was appointed as Centre Manager. Here, he worked on maximising marketing initiative, led discussions on the potential growth opportunities and secured further brand and store openings within the centre.
In 2016, Peter joined Ashford Designer Outlet to lead and deliver the largest single re-development within the McArthurGlen Group. Overseeing the £90m expansion project, which opened in Autumn 2019, the new Phase of the centre includes:
▪ A 100,000 sqft extension to the existing Ashford Designer Outlet Phase 1
▪ 50 new units for new store/brand openings
▪ A new food piazza
▪ State of the art children’s play area
▪ New 725 space car park
▪ Europe's largest living wall installation
▪ Better connections with Ashford International train station and Ashford Town Centre
▪ Additional 500 new jobs
Peter works closely with Ashford Borough Council and is a key stakeholder in the development of the area. Peter is also a representative of the Ashford Borough Council’s ‘Big 8’ strategy, which intends to unlock major opportunities, while delivering new jobs, housing, retail and cultural facilities.
