Nicola Tumber

Deputy Principal

Having worked in Further Education for nearly a decade, Nicola is able to utilise her experience in her role of Deputy Principal. Nicola joined Ashford College in November 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic where she overcame unforeseen challenges and worked to resolve unprecedented issues to ensure the Colleges high standards were met.

Nicola decided to make the transition to Ashford College as she felt it was an exciting opportunity to help develop the College in its locality. Community was a big influence for Nicola, as she wanted to help unite the College with the needs of the local people.

Passionate about the success of our students, Nicola prides herself on helping to provide an exemplary progression pathway for all of our students, regardless of where they aspire to be. One of the challenging yet rewarding parts of this role is supporting students and enabling them to achieve. Nicola encompasses her passion by helping to lead every aspect of College life, always striving for the highest quality of delivery.

In her spare time, Nicola turns her attention to her cakes, as a keen baker. She loves to cater for friends and family and especially enjoys creating celebration cakes. When she's not in the kitchen, she spends time with her two children and husband Mark.
