Omar Walker


The newest edition to the Students’ Union team is this year’s president, Omar Walker. The Jamaican born music enthusiast attended his local secondary school Denham Town High in the country’s capital, Kingston. Moving to the United Kingdom in 2001 with his family and aged just twenty, Omar continued with his education, enrolling at the City of London business college. He studied computer literacy and English speakers’ entry level one, both of which he achieved first class passes in. Following a period in employment, Omar chose to progress to a Level 3 qualification at EKC Group’s Folkestone College where he did Creative Media Business level three.

Omar has also spent lots of valuable time in a working environment undertaking trainee programmes at industry leading companies such as ASDA and McDonald’s. Business is what Omar has always leant towards in terms of work and he has shown this by becoming a class rep at all levels of education he has entered. Work experience has been a key part of his business journey and Omar has completed this in a variety of industries which include manufacturing, customer service, retail and the catering industry. He hopes to put this to use in the future, when he seeks to progress into the business world. At the age of thirty eight, Omar now hopes to progress to the University of Kent to read Business with Management degree level.
