Beginning her profession as a careers adviser, Lauren gained significant insight into the transformative power of education on young people. Her role saw her specialise in helping those with special educational needs as well as NEETs.
Lauren spent 18 years in career advisory roles, including as the Head of Information and Deployment at Connexions in Kent and Medway. During her time at Connexions, Lauren took her Master’s Degree in Careers Development, Education and Guidance. Following that, she moved into the role of Head of Delivery Support for CXK Limited, working to ensure better outcomes for vulnerable young people.
In 2012 Lauren took on a role with the former Kent Association of Further Education Colleges (Kafec). The position as Director of Development saw Lauren take on the planning and delivery of all overarching strategic objectives which would support the growth of further education colleges in Kent. Lauren joined Canterbury College in 2014, becoming Dean of Higher Education. She led on all elements of quality assurance, and was responsible for all aspects of the HE and Access programmes across the faculty.
Lauren moved into her current role as the Executive Director Student Experience and Wellbeing for the Group in June 2017. Her role sees her taking the senior leadership responsibility for the strategic development and operational delivery of the Group’s student experience services function. She brings a wealth of experience in assessing and evaluating quality of service delivery to the role, ensuring that the Group’s student experiences function at peak efficiency.
Lauren is married and lives just outside Faversham with her husband and their two children. In her spare time Lauren is passionate about sports, taking a keen interest in trail running and skiing.
